Picked up a 10-6
Just picked this bad boy up for a song and don't really have much info on it. Model number is 10-6, serial number is 52300. Any ideas on approximate manufacture date and value?
Thanks!

What number is on bottom of grip? That is the serial number. Substitute "x" for the last 2 or 3 numbers when posting online.

10-6 were early 60s to late 70s. The S# is on the bottom of the grip

Nice. What song did you sing for it? I had to sing Free Bird for mine.

Congratulations on the new to you 10-6. Three things that first caught my eye were the bull barrel, the very nice case hardening on the hammer and trigger and what appears to be the absence of a front site. My not being able to discern the front site may be an optical illusion caused by the angle at which the photo was taken. No disrespect to your photographic abilities. As midwesternmutt previously stated the serial number is located on the frame and in your case is hidden by the stocks. The stocks appear to be aftermarket Herrett's Shooting Stars. The finish looks to be at least 85% if not better. As to date, the best I can do is 1962 or later. There are many folks here about that can provide much more information than myself. If you got it for a song then I should have learned how to sing. Nice find!! hardcase60

When you check the butt serial, be sure to include the letter prefix before the number. It will be either a C (1962 to 1968) or a D (1968 to 1977).

I know the feeling. I recently scored my Model 10-6 with a heavy barrel. Cost me a whopping $271.00 bucks plus sales tax. The bluing does not seem as bright as yours, but mine does have nice serial number matching grips/stocks.
It came from the Mobile, Alabama Police. Its serial number is C801723 and dates it to about 1965.
