Default Help with year manufactured & showing off

Hello
This is my 2nd S & W purchase.
I am trying to find out what year it was manufactured. I know it was after 1962.
It's a model 12-2
Serial #on the bottom of the Square buttnew S & W airweight 38 revolver 029.jpg

new S & W airweight 38 revolver 028.jpg is D9631**
Checkered wood Magna grips have the same # without the letter.
The yoke & frame both have the serial #476**
Nickel Finish
4"
3 screw
Has the strain screw

I'd suggest you did pretty well. As long as you're happy with what you paid it doesn't really matter what anyone else says, though.

I was searching for a Model 31 a few weeks ago. I saw pictures of one that looked as though it had been stored underneath the seat of an old pickup for most of its life. Really bad blueing, there might have been a bit of rust, and bad dents in the grips, but the seller said the lock up was good and so was the rifling. The opening bid was $350. I didn't follow it to see whether it sold.

Your Model 12 sure looks good by comparison.

A little Flitz or Mothers Mag polish gently used over the surface would make that shine.

One of the best rear pocket revolvers ever made. $350 is spot on in my neck of the woods. No steady diet of +P ammo. Just use wadcutters at the range. Carry the same gun all the time. Best

Thanks everyone. I am happy, it looks much better then I thought it would. I will try the Mothers as a cleaner. I have some in the cabinet. This is a great site, I love the ID your gun info!!
