Default What year was my model 36 built ?
I have a S&W model 36 in 38 spl with the 2 inch version in nickel finish. The serial number is ACJ5594. Can anyone tell me what year it was built ?

By the catalog I would guess 1983.

1983 would be my guess as well, according to the S&W Standard Catalog.

Actually your gun most likely shipped mid to late 1984. My guess is Aug.
