Default Smith Wesson model 19
Hello, I am new to this forum. I just picked up a model 19 serial number K318640 the other number on it is 38800( I think) does any body know when this gun was built. It is in excellent shape maybe never been fired. It has a target trigger, target hammer, target stocks, white outline, red ram, pin barrel and recessed cylinder. Would like to know what year it was made. Thank you

The serial# dates to about 1958ish. Please post some pic's!

Just a suggestion, since all the folks here tend to be honest (absolutely no digs intended), when you post a serial number, mark the last 2 or 3 digits as Xs.

Wow! A Md 19 in the condition you describe from the late 50s is a real prize. Congratulations. Also, there are some good posts here on the forum regarding how to post pics. Do a search and I'm sure you will find some helpful info.

Oh, what is the barrel lenght?
