I purchased a set of these for my 686 Talo, see link. Had the front sight installed by a local gunsmith. Anyone with a decent drill press and the correct roll punch probably could have done the install. I don't have a drill press and the local gunsmith is only a couple miles from my house. It was worth $25 to have it done and not worry about it.

Rear sight was a different story. I removed the stock sight blade, but the meprolight required quite a bit of fitting. To make matters worse, the windage screw head wasn't drilled large enough for the stock sight detent spring and plunger. Spring fit okay, but the plunger was too large. Thought I could use a stock windage screw, but the meprolight wasn't the same thread or size, slightly different. Had to drill out the hole to accept the stock plunger.

On the positive side, I like the set up but not as straight forward to install as one would expect. I picked up the set new for less than $80, so price was very acceptable.
