.41 Magnum Shooters
Where do you find ammo for the 41 mag? Better still, the 210gr bullets for reloading. I have tried the usual places; Midway, Brownells, Natchez, etc., with no luck. I have an M58 and an M57 and no ammo!

I get my bullets from either SNS Casting or Bayou Bullets. They offer 215 gr. SWC that shoot accurately from my 58. They both have coated bullets and SNS has lead as well. Both are very good to deal with give them a try.

You gotta roll yer own.
I've been buying hard cast 210 grain SWC at the local gun shows, but I am blessed with two different commercial sources close to me here in central Pennsylvania. Cost has been about $40-50 per 500.
But lately I've acquired a Lyman mold and have been casting my own out of wheel weights and range lead. You can't get any cheaper than that!

I guess I am fortunate... I started casting in 1980 and the first handgun I ever bought out of a pawn shop was a P&R 6" Model 57.
I now have moulds for everything from a 170-grain full wadcutter to a 290-grain truncated cone "sledgehammer", and that includes a 220-grain gas checked mould as well. If I need projectiles I go outside to the garage and turn them out.

I looked at Midway and Grafs. They have the ammo and bullets you want. I checked Missouri Bullet Company and they also have 41 cal bullets. You didn't specify jacketed or cast. I am with Timetripper as I roll my own. I have several Lyman molds that I bought years ago. Have a fair amount of jacketed slugs plus loaded ammo that I have squirreled away to boot.

You didn't say what type of bullets or what you want to use them for?
If you reload there's no excuse for not having any ammo for your 41Mags. You aren't looking hard enough.
Missouri Bullet Co makes a bevel base 215gr L-SWC-HT, BHN-18 that's gave minor leading with fast/moderate powders but shot fine with slow powders.
Rim Rock makes a couple good cast bullets.
Xtreme's plated 41 caliber bullet works great too.

41 Ammo
Rolling your own is the way to go...I think Dardas has cast lead projectiles and shootersproshop.com has jacketed at a good price(usually).

Just looked at Powder Valley and they have stock on Sierra 210 grain JHC Sports Master and Berry's 210 grain FP. Bayou also sells a coated 215 grain SWC and in my experience with their coated bullets in 44 Mag and 357 Mag you can't load them hot enough to make them lead in a pistol. The Hi Tech coating they use works well on minimizing or eliminating leading of your barrel and forcing cone.

Ditto on finding a local caster. I am privileged to be close to Better Bullets in PA, and shoot nothing else in my guns. I swear by them, and thank my lucky stars it's within driving distance. Their gun shop is also my go to dealer whenever I need something to get rid of more bullets.

I have had a real problem buying lead bullets for past couple years. Nobody sells at shows and dealers don't stock them. Online sellers are not cheap and shipping is a killer.

I was at my local Scheels last week and picked up Hornady 210 gr - box of 100 for under $20 - I think it was $18. I took all 5 boxes that were on the shelf. They were discounted and then had a sale of and additional 15% off all reloading components.

I too use the SNS casting 215gr SWC cast & coated bullets, but I tend to load light to moderate loads.

41 Mag
Thanks guys, I do have the dies but have never used them and just started searching for the components. None of the gun shows in my area ever have "41 anything". I've reloaded for the 44mag and 357mag. Last 41 ammo I had was from Georgia Arms and have not seen any in a couple of years or more. Hard lead is ok by me, its what I shoot in my pre-war 44spls. Again thanks for the info, I will follow up.

This sort of thing is precisely why I returned to the "silver stream" of bullet casting. A real bonus is that I get the bullet I want, the alloy I want, the lube I want and the size I want. Jeez, that's a lot of wants! Oh, I forgot one, when I want.

If you have committed to reloading for the 41 , go ahead and go "whole hog" and get a Lee double cavity bullet mould ($22.00)and Lee Bullet Sizer Kit ($27.00). Fifty bucks and you never have to worry about getting bullets again.
My personal favorite is the Lee # 410 - 195 - SWC. Great for target , plinking and fun shooting.
A heaver bullet is the TL410 - 210 - SWC , but I do not have this mould.
My 210 grain mould is an old Lyman SWC.
Just go for it , casting and reloading for the 41 magnum is the only way to fly !

Midway generally has Starline .41 brass too. Or buy direct from Starline.
You must live in an area where reloading isn't very popular, certainly not supported by Dealers. There are .41 mag components all over the place here in MT.

I don't shoot a 41 anymore, but when I did I ordered my bullets from Berry's Manufacturing. They have free shipping on orders over $75.00.
https://www.berrysmfg.com/
They offered plated and lead.
I still order 9mm, 38/357, and 44 from them.

About two years ago my LGS had a shipment of new 41 mag ammo. Being new to the 41 I purchased what I could. Then I purchased 1,500 cases to load. My dealer said he hasn't seen the new 41 mag ammo in many years.
