With some depending on barrel length I would suspect it would be in the 475-550 range. Maybe a bit more depending on your area and availability of such guns in that area. In my area great condition ones are posted for sale at around 700 plus but that is with box and all.

Thank you! Moralem & 824tsv
The barrel is 6in.
I just got home with it. I couldn't pass it up! I got the gun for 250 . It has a little wear on the finish but shoots great! I may have it refinished I'm not sure yet. I kind of like it The way it is.
Thank you

Welcome to the FORUM and Congratulations! You got yourself a great deal on a great gun. Are the original S&W stocks still on it? If so, it's an even better deal. The Md 19 is a very desirable gun and you probably got yours for about half price.

mackma, welcome to the forum. If you got a 6", Model 19-4 as you have described for $250.00 from a buddy, I only have one question. How do you treat your enemies??? Great acquisition! Folks around here are very fond of pics, so if you got'em then please post'em. The refinish/don't refinish is a very controversial issue. It's your gun do what you want to. If you do, I recommend the factory or other high end and well respected re-finishers a place called Ford's being one. I'm sure you others here can offer more suggestions. A couple of things to consider: 1. A quality refinish will be costly, 2. It will not increase the value of the revolver, 3. If the gun has not been abused then any finish issues on a gun that is approx 36 years old only give her character. hardcase60

Thank you all !! I do have pictures of the gun I'm just not sure on how to post them yet . I am kind of new to all this . I've always enjoyed shooting and really just started buying handguns . This is my 2nd smith I also have a sd40ve that shoots real nice . I honestly didn't kno what the value of the gun was and I wasn't gonna buy it but it is a beautiful gun even with it minor flaws. I will post pictures as soon I can figure out how.
Thank you all again

I think it would have been more expensive if he had stolen it.

Oh my goodness...highway robbery. It you PM me I will accept ownership at no cost to you so you aren't arrested for grand theft...nice! Best I ever did was an original Victory, all matching, for $300. Still hiding from the cops over that one...

Wow, my best buy on that same gun over the past 2 years is $360, and that was a little over a year ago (before all of our local dealers discovered Gun Broker). The grips are worth around $150 these days. So, you've got a C note in the gun.

If I saw that exact gun in a dealers display case priced at $ 700, I would buy it on the spot . You did fantastic at $ 250 .

Crazy good deal. Not sure exactly what you would refinish.

That gun doesn't need to be refinished, just shot.

You owe your buddy a steak dinner at his favorite place. Beautiful Smith even if you paid double it still would have been a good deal. when you said some finish wear then said $250 I was thinking a 50% gun then you show a gun with very nice finish. Wow just wow you couldn't buy a model 10 for that well just about anyway.
