Default D.O.B. of a 34-1

I hope I got this in the right forum. What would the date of birth be for a nickel 34-1 with a 2 inch barrel with serial number M1705xx be? Any idea of value? The gun is 95% - nickel is excellent with no frosting or flaking. Thanks in advance.

M1705xx = 1981. This would be just before S&W eliminated the pinned barrel.
Nickel plated in about 95% condition, it should sell for around $650. More if you have the box, docs and tools. These Kit Guns are wonderful little revolvers.
