Price check on a 19-3 nickel snub nose
There's a pretty clean nickel 19-3 snub nose for sale locally Original grips and just a few tiny dings, nothing through the finish, no corrosion. Appears to have been shot very little, minimal turn ring and the action is nice and tight.
Blue Book is only $650 or so, but it seems that older S&W revolvers regularly sell above Blue Book value these days. At least around here.
I'm wondering what this gun s really worth right now?

I can't imagine paying more than $650 for it but the way some gun prices go it's awfully hard to say. We all see the outrageous prices some guns sell for these days but that's no reason to pay those prices. It's nickel, it's a snubbie, it's out of production, it's popular with the S&W revolver crowd, it's popular with the concealed carry revolver crowd, etc. All of those things push the price but I would not be a buyer beyond $650 and I'd likely try to pay less. Yet as i say that I am aware of two similar guns at auction for $750 and $825 starting prices. To me that's insanity but it's a YMMV for anyone who wants one.

I wouldn't hesitate to pay $650 for one- that's a deal these days. They are only going up in value. This one recently had a winning bid of $1425 but has since been relisted and it's already up to $762 with 8 days left. Smith & Wesson Model 19-3, 2.5 Barrel, Nickel Mint : Revolvers at GunBroker.com

I paid $700 for 19-3 a few years ago and was happy to get it. Lightly used and excellent condition, like yours.

older thread but I paid $850.00 for a nickel snubbie with target trigger, target hammer, white outline rear sight with S&W finger groove grips. it is one of the best looking 19's I have ever seen around here circa 1971

I sold one about 18 months ago for $750, that was in very nice condition. (I have regretted selling it ever since)

I would say that anything under $750 is okay if you like and want the gun. I do see these snubs being offered at much higher prices. Not sure how many sell at $1000 or more but I see them advertised there.

Keep in mind the OP asked this question 4 years ago. 2.5” 19 and 66 snubs have gone thru the roof since then.
