Default Current USAF Model 15

I stopped by the armory on base this afternoon to talk to them about the clearing barrel signs. As I was talking to them I asked if they even had any still in the racks & expressed my major doubt that they did. Well lo & behold they had 1. She told me she has never seen it checked out & didn't believe anybody was even qualified on it. For what it's worth it had rubber pachmayr grips and parkerized finish. It had the U.S.A.F. stamp on the frame just like mine. I didn't get it hold it & didn't think to take a photo of it. I might try to next week.

Anyway just thought you guys would like to hear about that. Hear is a photo of the clearing barrel sign.

I said it above, but I feel like I need to repeat it. I was floored when she had one still on the rack. Made me instantly want to find a way to buy it.

I am not horribly surprised. Seems like the use of M15's (or similar for other branches) with blanks for K9 training has been discussed before.

I was the Security Forces Cmdr when we transitioned from the M-15 to the M-9. Units were told to keep a certain number of M-15s and turn the rest in. I forget how many we were to keep and don't recall why. One was set up to work with the FATS. After we went to the M-9 I don't know if any of those M-15s ever left the armory. Just another item we had to inventory and clean.
