Default SL Variant Speedloaders

I have found these highly regarded and equally hard to find. There are several sellers on EBay offering models for different revolvers. I have no affiliation with any of the sellers.

I hadn't heard of them. After reading your post I looked at a couple of web sites about them and watched a short "YouTube" about them. I was not very impressed. Maybe f I tried them I might feel differently but they looked like they could be some trouble. What happens of you inadvertently drop them? Will the spring action allow the rounds to fall out of the loader? And, how smoothly do they feed into the cylinder? The "splaying" factor built into the loader could make them feed more slowly. In my opinion, anything devised for rapid revolver re-loading will have to be much better than the Safariland comps....
I don't think that this loader can beat the Safariland Comp loaders. So far, nothing has.
'course that's just my opinion...I could be wrong...

I've owned several SL Variant speed loaders for L and N frames (6, 7 and 8 shot) and they all work great. They are larger than the Safariland, but operate similarly with the spring loaded cartridge release.
No worries, except that they are hard to find these days.

Edited... I wouldn't consider these for carry purposes due to the size, but for general target use, home defense and/or competition I'd recommend them highly.

FWIW

+ 1 on the Safariland loaders. Been using them for over 35 years. Always dropped them when reloading. Saw 1 break during that time. I have seen thousands of reloads with no problems.

I bought my J frame Variant speed loaders from Bobby Mac's website but no stock at this time. They are an excellent speed loader.

It would be awesome if Safariland made a Comp III for the J frame. That's all I use for K frames.
