Is this about $250? I was looking at their prices a couple weeks ago and could not believe they would re nickel for that amount.
Nice looking gun!

Very nice !
If you dont mind a few questions,
Was it originally a blue or nickel gun ?
What was the condition before the refinish ?
Did S&W do the work in house or send it to Fords?
What do they charge to nickel a gun now ?
Did you have to give any specific instructions ?
Did they completely disassemble the gun prior to refinish ?
Any small things you dont like that dont show up in the pics ?

Try to answer questions
1) Cost was $288 which included SHIPPING BOTH WAYS
2) Ford doing the work? Doubt it because from the time
my CC was charged for the service till I got the gun was less
then 10 days, can't see S&W sending it round trip to Ford
3)Revolver was blue but had serious dings from being dropped
on hard surface( broke rear sight blade) and scars on left
side of barrel
4) What appear to be scratches in my photos are not---- its just
light/backdrop issues
Here is before pic,you can see the barrel scars, one cylinder flute was gouged
which you can't see but they fixed it very nicely,I doubt you could find
it now.

Your gun should be the poster child to dispute all of those in the "refinished guns are worthless camp"! It looks amazing to me. Do you have any "before" pictures?
To me, if you are starting with a non-collector grade gun and want to make it look better to make you happy, DO IT! Is your gun an original nickel 17-3? No. Did it cost you $10,000+? No. Does it look as good as an original? Most probably. Are you happy? Definitely!

The only flaw I see is the front sight is nickeled instead of being blued, other than that it is absolutely gorgeous.

No flaw.
That is a correct front sight for that model and year.

Nickel M48-3 .22 magnum
Bought this a few years ago from a Forum member. All factory and marked on the grip frame. I cannot bring myself to shoot it. It is unfired since the factory had it. Sure is a pretty revolver. Big Larry

Good point, when I started this I asked for a RR and was initially
told Yes,after they got the gun they said NO,has to do with
FS blind pins (1 or 2), I have a one which they would not do,just
an FYI for you guys. Pete
