Default Quick Price check 28-2

It's tuff to find an example on gunbroker completed auctions

They are there but non have this museum like condition...

It is a 4" 28-2 looks unfired (was told it was, it looks it, no powder burns etc.) if not unfired it is dead mint...

In box indicating highway patrolman blue finish model 28 4" inch barrel on box, box has brown smith paper and instructions (no cleaning kit) early N serial so 69-72

Grips are orig. larger target non diamond with relief football for speed loader

estimate on price? I may put in classifieds since I'm afraid to touch it :-)

Thanks in advance!

They bring $800 pretty easy right now. One like that in box could hit $1000. Every Smith I'm seeing out at the LGS with any vintage at all is priced at $600-$800, and that's for nice M10's and M36's even. I check the new arrivals every week and pass on everything. The next week they are all gone. Many actually sell in the store to locals. The rest sell on Gun Broker. The M28 you are describing might be put out for $1200, but that's a little high. . .but what isn't when it comes to a Smith.

Is there a label on the end of the box? If so what is marked in the stock section of it.

Very nice. I do not know what it would fetch if two guys got into a bidding war on Gun Broker. I probably couldn't afford it, and I sure would sign off when the price goes over $800. Somebody out there in the ether would probably pay $1,000.

The Football cutout on your target stocks is called "the extractor relief". "The speed loader cutout" has that portion of the wood cut away completely.

Probably would go for a $1000.00 in today's market or pretty close to that.

Very nice 28! If it were mine, I would sell it! ONLY because I would not want to FLAW it in some way. I have no guns that are unfired. Made that mistake once, and never got much enjoyment from looking at it. Bob

Update...

Thanks again for the info.

I guess we now know it is worth at least $975 cash in hand

A local found out about it, I sold it for the mentioned $975
He seemed very happy to,add it to his collection for that
Now I'll buy something I'm not afraid to use :-)
