I have a very clean mod19-4, serial no. 63K9133, pinned 4" barrel, recessed ejector, 3 screw, blued that I'd like to get a feel for how old it is. Thanks in advance for any information.

Thank you...that's a big help. Appreciate the quick response. It has black plastic grips with finger recesses that I've never been sure were S&W grips or after market. I bought the gun from a friend years ago who was in financial trouble but never saw the original wooden grips or know if it came with them.

It came with walnut or GA target stocks. S&W never used plastic. Some years after your revolver shipped, some models did use rubber, mostly Hogue.

Thanks...makes sense. I think I'm going to put a set of Hogue or Pachmayr's on it.
