Default Pricing Advice 19-3, Please Help

Need some price help,

A little gun store I frequent just purchased a 19-3, 2.5in barrel, round butt, factory nickeled, in about 95% condition. She's wearing a pair of stag grips, no box, no paperwork.

More than a shooter but not perfect.

So I want this one and the store has ask me to make an offer as they owe me a small favor!

How much would you offer, 600-700,more less?

I don't think $700 is an outrageous price out the door for that gun. Sure, I would want it for less. I don't know what favor they owe you for either. Maybe you should get it for $450 with the favor in mind.

I would offer $650.00 and let the store make a counter offer if needed. My top price would be $725.00. Understand, sometimes I'm willing to over pay to get what I really want.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I just bought one here (Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX) that is the same as the one you are considering and paid just shy of $500.00. I believe in offering low. The most the shop can say is no. It is much easier to raise an offer than lower it.

I'm no expert, but remember, usually an LGS will low-ball on a trade-in price. I'd offer $500 and then let them say yes, no or counter offer.

Give them the old........

"Ahhhh....I don't know....... $500???"

Wait for a yes or counter.......... if counter seems high..........

"Really???? That much!!!....... can we meet in the middle?????"

I came into a nice 19-4 nickel 2.5" about a year ago for $650, which I was very happy with. It has a very nice nickel finish as well (probably about 97%) and mechanics are solid. No box/papers, however the magna grips are numbered to the gun, and in nice shape. Good luck, hopefully you can bring it home!

Gun prices must be letting up. P&R and in nickel! Pretty good. I'm thinking more in the $800 range. Nickel has been commanding a lot more lately. Remember, fewer than 10% were done in factory nickel.
