Date of Mfg. Assistance Needed
Gents-
I have a copy of The Smith & Wesson book at home (of course) but I am out of state traveling for business.
I have encountered a very pristine Model 19-3. Nickel. 2.5" Case hardened hammer and trigger. Pinned & recessed. Appears unfired. Small ring on cylinder from occasional cycling of the action. All original box & papers. Seller is asking $1,000 which does not seem out of line given the 99%+ condition. Serial # = 14K6xxx. Can anyone please tell me the year of Mfg?
Thank you in advance for your help!

The SCSW tells me that 14K6xxx is from 1977. Good luck with the purchase!

I aquired a model 37 Airweight .38 Spl snub-nose, s/n 26J860. When was the mfg year and will this gun safely fire P-ammo?

Acman, I wouldn't be firing +P in that one....both froma potential damage standpoint and from a "Damn that really hurt" standpoint. I think the floating J guns were early 70s....

Thanks. Aquired this and a Brauer Bros CC holster for $200. No box, but looks new and immaculate!

Your missing the letter K in the serial number. I also like the guess as to the month it was shipped.

Model 37 mfg date
There is no "K" in s/n on butt of my model 37 Airweight. It is simply "26JXXX".
