Default Price Check: 15-2 4" barrel

I am considering selling a S&W 15-2 that comes with the original matching serial number box and grips (box in excellent condition), cleaning tools and papers. I have no idea as to how many rounds have been fired (none by me), but it has a faint cylinder line. No pictures at this time, but looking for a ball park price range (California sale).

Additionally, I have a friend who may want to sell his M17 4 screw (Manufacture date 1958). This is a beautiful revolver with only a slight....very slight holster wear at the tip of the barrel (maybe the last 1/8" - didn't notice it for about 5 minutes. He's looking to get $750 (no box). Fair price? Remember, it's California where every older S&W seems to command 20% higher prices.

Thanks,

Muley

Bottom line first. Don't sell that Md 15. They are just too hard to find in the condition you describe.

If I was in the market for one in excellent condition like you describe with box, docs and tools and matching diamond magnas, I'd be happy to find one for $600 and I might pay another $150 if condition warranted it. And this would certainly be the case if it had a 2 inch barrel. And of course this isn't California.

Maybe you can work some kind of trade for the Md 17. It sounds like a very good price to me. Or better yet, keep the Md 15 and buy the Md 17 and have two wonderful classics!
