Default My favorite J-frames

Had 6 J-frames over the years since '66. These two are my favorites, a 33-1 and a 63-3. I think the 4" bbl looks more in proportion than the 2". Three of the others I've had were 2" and I still have one of them, a 34-1 in nickel. I also prefer 5" on K and N frames. For the blade guys the knife is a Russell belt knife made in Canada I bought in '67 works on a deer like they come with zippers.

I had a knife exactly like that sheath knife many years ago. Loved it!

I picked up a 63 no dash a few months back. Great little shooter, as is the 60 no dash snubby I keep handy when riding or hiking. I can't say which is my favorite. Both get carried often.

Is that a model 10? Is it aka 63-3<?> As an LEO pre-semi autos, I used that old S&W 10-6 as primary weapon. What a gun! Super accurate. At the barricade, 3" group at 25 yards using single action, strong hand, steel sights, unk load. Hard to beat that great ole gun. But now, all history as semi autos are now the weapon of choice for most departments.

The 63-3 is a .22 LR. The 33-1 is a >38 S&W, not special.

britbike1,
My favorite J frame is a model 63 no dash with a 4" barrel. Number two is a little harder to pick but I'm going with a model 631 also with a 4" barrel. Next is a toss up between a model 60 Pro and a model 640 Pro. The 60 is the better all around pistol but the 640 is my favorite pocket EDC. Love my J's!

Ride safe!

Hands down, my favorite j-frame is my Model 60-4, whose 3" barrel with underlug and adjustable sights make it extremely versatile for all purposes. I'll try to post another picture of it when I get home this evening.

Froggie

PS Got it... the knife is one with a S&W medallion, but I don't think it was ever marketed by S&W.

I like the no-dash stuff.... My two favorite J frames are the Mod. 37 and the Mod. 60. I believe they are among the handiest and most useful revolvers ever made for their intended purposes....

I have owned 2 J's; an older 36 and one that was made 5-6 years ago. The new one broke its hand after a few hundred rounds. The old one ran fine. I don't have either anymore, shoot the K's so much better and I belt carried both so I moved them on.

Mine is the Model 38 (Bodyguard Airweight). Keep one in my briefcase. Ugly as sin and resembles it's owner that way. I love'em.
