They appear to be heavily modified factory SB Target stocks. The left side cutout (if original) and silver washers put them in the late 1970s, I think.

They were factory stocks at one time but that's obviously no longer the case. I've dealt with the seller before and for awhile his thing was buying aftermarket Colt stocks, adding Colt medallions to them and reselling them. Now he's got some kind of laser pattern machine and is taking old S&W stocks, among other manufacturers', and adding that textured finish to them for resale. There's nothing original or factory about these once such modifications have been made.

I was noticing how clean and shiny the escutcheons were, and the raw wood in the hole leading to the escutcheon. This would indicate to me new or re-made stocks.

I agree with -db- (post #5), but my guess is that I would like those a lot if I got my hand on them.
Good luck with your project, and don't forget to post photos when you're done!

Well hello everyone well this is what i was told
They are k frame round butt
My plans are to use them on my 24-3 Lew Horton 3"
I wanted something a bit smaller than the target grips but still have some meat to them to be able to shoot comfortably
Well either way they are very unique and i hope they fit
I was told they were for a model 10 round butt
Appreciate all the help
God Bless, John

Hi John Your 24-3 is an N frame so the fit will not be good.
Great gun BTW.
You do get to shop for a RB K frame now though....always a bright side

Well the 24-3 has the k frame round butt grips
That was a selling feature in the ads as the time
i have a set of k frame round butt eagle secret service on it right now...but they are small for my hands...but they are perfect for carrying it with...i am hoping these might just be a happy medium between the factory targets and the eagles...
once i get them...i will add some pics...
God Bless and thank all of u for all the help
John

I "name" them "Leroy"... why you ask? Because that is the first name that came to my mind when I looked at the photos.

Very cool grips - I'm guessing the stocks are one-of-a-kind modified from K-Frame or N-Frame Factory Target Stocks from the 1970's.
Very well done. I can't wait to see them on the gun.

I was thinking Elrod.
I like it, an I'm stickin to it.
I LIKE those grips. Very cool looking, and not as subject to dinging as checkering.

Yes, All kidding aside i like those grips John.
Reminds me of the Colt service grips they used
to put on their small RB snubbies.
Hope you have a S&W they fit on.
Chuck

I have a feeling another pair will show real soon.
Search under seller skkustoms
lots of stuff ... lots of Colt stuff

This whole N frame round butt thing has been discussed before, here is one thread:
Smith & Wesson 624 44Special round butt size.
Within that there is a link to another discussion. Happy reading!

well here is some pics to show what i have done so far.....i will need to replace the metal washers for one and new original medallions that were cut when the basketweave process was done....anyone know where u can get original medallions?...anyone know how they were secured?...they look to be riveted on....any help will be so appreciated...God Bless, John....
best i can see is any K Frame Round Butt grip should be able to be modified to do this...u just need steady hands and work very slow.....i will still have to make pieces to make the grips fit well to the frame...
