Smile Model 57

Hello, I was lucky enough to win this new addition to the family yesterday at an auction for $650 . I'm thinking it did not come in this box , because it is just blue with no S&W markings or label but it did have the right papers and S&W blanket. It does have a bright turn line and some holster wear but locks up like new . Could someone be so kind as to tell me it's D.O.B SN#N309xxx I guess I posted this in the wrong place and for that I'm deeply sorry .

Nice gun! And the box may be the original. I'm not sure of the timeframe, or the models involved, but at some time S&W shipped the gun in a plain blue box if it was shipped with a wood presentation box. The label, I think, was applied to the outside cardboard and not to the blue box. I have a 27-2 S sn which came to me in such a box with what appeared to be the original papers and cleaning kit but without the wooden presentation box. Hopefully someone with more knowledge on the details will be along to provide more information. Great price on that one by the way. Enjoy.

That is correct. Label on the cardboard box.

Welcome to the Forum! You did indeed score on that one, it is easily a $900+ package around here.

.41 is a great round, enjoy your new gun!

That's exactly the way mine, which I bought new, came to me.
The gun was in the plain blue box in the brown anti-corrosion Kraft paper, the presentation case was empty, and all of the above was in a shipping box which had the factory hand written tag on the outside end.

Nice looking 57! - and at an attractive price. The smooth target stocks are nice on that gun - to me anyway. I prefer them over checkered stocks, particularly on a 4-inch gun.

Congratulations on the new sixgun. That's a good one!
