New additions
A couple of recent additions to the revolver collection. A nickel S&W Model 29-2 with an 8 3/8" barrel, and a 4" 66-2.

Very nice pair of revolvers.
I have a twin to the M27.
And cousin to the M66 in 2 1/2".
The Hogue's are nice for shooting, but for dress up wood always looks the nicest.

I think I did extremely well on both of these, especially since I'm in California. The 29 is in excellent condition with perfect timing and lock up and came with the presentation case (typical shape for an older gun). It was dirty and dry as a bone but cleaned up much better than I thought it would. A little Ren wax and she's purty! The finish is even better than I thought. Paid $800. The 66 had a few marks here and there but a detail strip, cleaned the green grease someone had put on the action who knows how long ago, and a few strokes with a couple of Scotchbrite pads and it's excellent. The action is smooth, lock-up and timing are excellent. Got it for $500. Both of these were in the case (about two weeks apart) at my LGS.
I've never shot an 8 3/8" 29 (I have an older 6 1/2" that I shoot on occasion), so I'm not sure about the barrel length. Fortunately, I have an excellent condition 4" nickel barrel that can easily be swapped by my local smith should I get the urge.
