Default Model 27-2 with possible bubba issues?

Hi guys, I have a question and I think that I know part of the answer but I need to find out just how bad it might be.
I am a recent winner of an online audtion for a gorgeous model 27-2 3 inch with nearly perfect magna grips. I have been chasing one of these for a long while so when this one showed up jumped on it. I fear that I my have jumped too soon because I see some anomalies.
First, there is a burr at the top of the frame hand window:

Second, the ratchet edges are pretty badly marred:

The gun dry fires, times and locks up perfectly, although I have not had it to the range for live fire.

I suspect that someone has changed either the ejector star or the hand without proper fitting of everything. How bad is it...?

My .02 cents worth, stop dry firing your new to you but old S&W
revolver. It may have seen lots of use over the years. More pics of the
whole gun would help but you might want to have a good gunsmith
check it out.

I would also have a gunsmith check it out but if it functions fine I'd shoot the snot out of it.

I would take a stone and clean up the extractor(remove those burrs) so it stops scraping up the recoil shield.. and shoot it..

The bad news- the gun has a million miles on it. The good news- it's good for 2 million more. The peening on the ratchet comes from the mass of the heavy cylinder "starting and stopping" from said miles. Enjoy. Joe

I recently purchased a nice 25-2 on GB. I noticed first that the cylinder seemed to have little or no backlash, although the barrel/cylinder gap looked normal. Also, there was a drag line on the breech face corresponding to the outer diameter of the ratchets.
Like yours, my ratchets showed some peening of material from the contact surfaces with the hand to the top of each ratchet, so that with the close fit of the cylinder; these peened edges were dragging on the breech face. This made double action shooting difficult to say the least.
Looking at my other revolvers, I saw similar peening. But with the additional backlash on those guns, there was no dragging against the breechface. My solution was simply to file the peened edges back down to be level with the ratchets. Problem solved, and I now can feel some backlash in the cylinder.
