I would not pay that much for a 85% version myself. I think I have seen better condition versions go on GB for about that kind of money.

A commemorative gun in 85% condition has no premium for anybody except somebody who really wants a Texas Ranger Commemorative gun. I'm guessing that most of us (who aren't from Texas) would rather have just a plain-jane 19-3.
So at 85% I'd say $800 is way too much.

Pricing on Model 19's has gone crazy in the last few years. We are probably at the point where a 4 inch P&R 19 with 85% original blue and stocks and box will run to $800 in many parts of the country and higher in others. A local buy with no shipping and transfer costs may make the price more attractive than an internet buy with no prior inspection. I don't think that shooter commemoratives will be much behind that.

Yes, I would.
IMO, $800 for that commemorative in that condition is too high for me.
But if you have the moolah and want the gun, what's a couple hundred bucks?
I'm not an expert but if the package is complete and as you described (85%), I'm thinking maybe $600???. But I'd prefer a non-commemorative in the original blue BP box over a TR gun.

I would wait for one like GA 1911's picture above. Is there some other motivation we don't know about like: are you from Texas? Do you have a son or daughter that is a Texas Ranger? Or a Texas State Trooper (like me!!)

I think that I would buy it..... You may be able to find another in better condition, however, you may not.... Remember, only a couple of short years ago, Model 28s were more or less reasonable. Today they have risen in price. And there were man, many more model 28s made than the Texas Ranger model. I haven't seen one in my area EVER. And I live in a relatively lively gun ownership area.
