Default What are these stocks?

Can someone help me with these? I bought this 27-2 long barrel on GB and took possession today. The targets are shorter than my other targets. I thought that they may have just been shortened but once in my hand I realized that they are slimmer than regular targets. The wood is much darker as well. Any thoughts?

I wonder if they are K Frame targets that were worked to fit on your N Frame?

They look good.

+1 with the K frame. Not enough horn to cover the top of frame is a bit tell tale

Those are N-square targets from the late 70's to maybe 1981 or so. Anyways, someone trimmed some material off the butt as well as the front strap. If they were K's there would be a lot of metal exposed along the backstrap.

Take them off and look at the inside. If they're Dremelled out K's you should be able to tell. Otherwise they are just are just earlier N's. There have been a lot of subtle variations in Smith grips over the years.
