That's good looking and should be a fun. Is it going to be your daily carry piece?

Hello OP, nice little snag for a carry gun. You did not get hurt on that 36.
Its only a hip pocket gun, Carry it. Best

I, too scored last week on Gunbroker.com, also ironically an S&W 38 Chiefs Secial. Mine, we believe is of 1952 vintage. It has the serrated front sight and rounded trigger guard, round butt. Paid $325 for mine, which I thought was a pretty good deal.

I picked this one up last week at a local gun show. Trying to reclaim some of the victims of a S&W purge a few years back... And yes it does have a front sight - ramped serrated.

Great buy on that Model 36. I want one now. I am a huge fan of the J-frames. I have Model 60s, a PC J-frame, and a 642. They are great carry firearms and like small pieces of art. Beautiful design and function. Enjoy!

SRV is to music as S&W is to revolvers! It just don't get much better, IMHO.
Thanks for both.

Yes, a very nice score indeed! Around here that gun would be priced at about $100 more than you paid. Plus you got a grip adaptor along with box etc. Congratulations!

Waiting for mine to get back from the mother ship, supposed to arrive by Fedex some time tomorrow, had it tightened, and a new frame lug installed, the whole process took about 3 month and I miss the little fella'. Have fun with that 36, you may end up carrying and shooting it more than you expected.

..."like small pieces of art"...I agree...the smaller revolvers are scaled down...and it makes them kind of elegant looking...I wouldn't mind finding a model 60 at the right price...while I was waiting for my background check to clear...my FFL showed me a model 337 he had for sale...and it definitely had that refined...almost elegant look that Smith j frames have...and boy was it light!...

I sometimes ban myself from even going through the door knowing that they will have something inside that will be too tempting to leave behind.

That is a great deal. Around here one can expect to pay $500 for that gun in that condition and be glad to have it.

Be careful tho, they are like hamsters, one minute you have 2 and the next time you look you have 20.

I traded off a very nice 1982 nickel-plated Model 37 for a 1963 shooter grade two inch Model 12-2 round butt. Since I only had about $200.00 in the Model 37, I'm happy.

The square butt M36 can make a huge difference in its "shoot-ability" over the RB version. While I do carry the RB version I own some SB's as well and do like the way they feel and handle better - just a wee bit larger to pocket carry but of you don't mind the slight increase in size you will be amply rewarded when you shoot the gun. LOOKS GREAT!
