Traded for a Smith Wesson blued 4 inch does not have a recessed cylinder no model number in the normal place serial number K267XXX, screw on the front of trigger guard, no box. Does not look like it was used much, has the original finish but had Pach rubber grips on it. If I look for original non target magna style K frame wood grips, what might I be looking for diamond style?

A .38 Combat Masterpiece, not long before it was called the model 15. Even the purists here would agree to call it a "pre-model 15" . It should have the screw at the front base of the trigger guard.

You are looking for diamond Magna stocks as original replacements; finding a nearby stamped number on the right inside panel to your gun's SN would let you know it is of the correct era. It looks very well preserved. Enjoy!

Where is the round shoulder on the top or bottom front of the grip

The square were used from the late forties into the early 50s.The round came next until '67 or so

Since we don't know whether they came on a fixed sight or target sight revolver, it would be difficult to pin it down with much accuracy. If they were issued on a K prefix revolver, they probably would have shipped in 1956. If on a C prefix gun, it could have been a year or two earlier.
