Default Help identifying an engraver of 29-2

New member asking for help identifying engraving and gold inlaying on a recent purchase. I never was into engraved guns, but when i saw this 29-2 at a local dealer I really liked the work and detail the artist put into it. Factory letter states that this 29-2 6.5" was shipped to Al Freelands scope shop in Rock Island Illinois June 1967. It was one of two 29"s shipped on that order. This one is S/N S 2792XX . This gun was not factory engraved, but was done later. I had one person suggest that this work looks like Antonio Bee's. Just hoping someone might have an idea. Photo's in an album under my user name. Thanks in advance for you input......

Thumbs up

Welcome to the forum! I'll link your photos here for an easier look at your 29-2:

I agree that it could be Angelo Bee. He usually marked his work with an "ABee" or "AB" stamp somewhere on the gun - sometimes just under the front corner of the grip. I would also throw out Denise Thirion (who I believe used to be married to Angelo Bee) as a distinct possibility. I believe both Angelo and Denise are still engraving.

Beautiful gun - thanks for sharing!

Notice on the picture of the front of the crane, at 5 o'clock below the "Chrysanthemum" there's what looks like an "T" that trails of into something...Couldn't make it out even under 10X Thank for the link!

Nice presentation grips as well! Is that an original S&W case as well?
