New Acquisition
I went to my local LGS this morning to see what they had in K frame 38 Specials. A little while later I left with this, having traded a LNIB Glock 19 Gen 4 towards the revolver. It's in pretty good condition, except for the chunk taken out of the left grip lower rim. It's a 15-3 Combat Masterpiece.

You traded a plastic gun for a classic gun. Hard to see how you could go wrong!

Well done! Combat Masterpieces are my favorite flavor of S&W revolvers. I bought a nice set of diamond center Magnas for a Model 15 with similar damage to the stocks. Found mine on classifieds here. Ebay is also a source.
Clean up the bluing on that revolver with a little Flitz, then a nice coat of Renaissance Wax. It will shine like a new dime.

Yes, you did make a great deal, the Model 15 is a great model to shoot. Also totally agree on the clean up, the Renaissance Wax will really make it shine and give it great protection. I'm using it on all my firearms.

I would be surprised if you did not shoot the 15 better than the Glock. The 15 will appreciate if properly maintained. Would the Glock? Anyway the 15, is a good Smith revolver. I do not have 1, but have a 67 no dash. (stainless version) Now you need to take it to the range for a workout! Bob

That looks nice and will be completely functional. However, you are probably aware that those target stocks are a bit later than what would have shipped on a 15-3. Dash 3 production ended about December 1976. At that time K frame target stocks still had the football relief. The speed loader cutout first appeared a year or two later.

I liked my 2nd gen G19 a lot. I LOVED my 15-3, which now lives with my son.
You did the sensible thing.

Very nice model 15. Did you find it at 111 Guns? By the way, hang on to those grips if they number to the gun, they can be repaired.

I can't say for sure, but I am wondering if some experts can say whether they think it has or has not been reblued. The picture has the trigger and maybe hammer looking to have some bluing. It could be just the photo.
