Default The 3 1/2" Model 27 In Movies

Setting Patton's Registered Magnum aside, I was trying to figure how many times I've seen the short model 27 appear in films. Last night I saw "The Split", a 1968 crime caper starring Jim Brown (he was really good) and lots of great actors in it. Donald Sutherland is the gun guy in the gang and shoots a Model 27. And lets not forget the creeped out Richard Lynch in The Seven Ups (1973). I know there's more but I can't think of them now. Sutherland shoots his gun with the same intensity as Lee Marvin used his Model 29 in Point Blank. But Jim Brown actually shoots that same gun more in the movie.

Digeorgio in The Enforcer used one and it may been seen in the range scene in Magnum Force.

I just remembered, Luca Brassi in The Godfather had one. But of course thats set in the late 40s, but for the film it might well have been a Model 27-something or other actually used. I gotta check out the Magnum Force gun.
