Mod. 27 3.5" price check
I know this is like offering a fellow addict a drink but, advice is needed so here goes.
A seller, on a local sales network, is offering a Mod. 27 with a 3.5" barrel for $850.00. No box, no tool(s) but, he does have the original grips that are numbered to the gun. The original grips are not shown in the ad and the revolver is wearing a pair of "new" target grips, with shallow finger grooves and the S&W medallion. I do not know if the original grips are service or target but, will inquire.
The photographs, posted, are not great but, the overall condition looks to be about 95%. Prices on the national sales sites are, as you know, all over the place but, the listed price for this one is, IMO, low.
What say you?

I agree, that is a good price if it is a 95% gun with original wood. I'd put the value at over a grand easy in my part of the world. And, that is assuming it is a 27-2. If it were a 27 ND or 27-1 or pre 27, the price goes up.

That's a very good price on a much desired Revolver if it's in 95% condition.

It's worth that with no grips. Don't wait.

If its local go look it over. Big price difference if original finish verse re-finish.
If the finger combat grips are original S&W could be sold for $2-3 hundred depending on condition.
I
Really hard to see condition with pictures especially bad ones. Scratches, freckling, corrosion, mechanical function, etc.
If decent condition I think any model 27 3 1/2" under $1000. is a good price.
Just noticed you said "new" finger grips so $$ value would be less.

Passed. Turned out to be an 85% revolver with loss on bluing on the cylinder flats and other 'high" areas.
The search continues.
