Default Finally have a 13 3"

Well I have been beating around the bush getting 4" models here and there.
First a nickel My 13-1: my favorite Smith so far (long winded and many pictures, grab a beer)

Then my 13-1 Not sure how I feel yet about this 13-1 purchase I just made

Then the shooter 13-1 Smith & Wesson Model 13-1 : Revolvers at GunBroker.com

Finally I needed a 3" to round out the collection. I knew they brought the money so I saved it for last.

SMITH & WESSON 13-3 FBI 357 3" VERY NICE IN BOX : Revolvers at GunBroker.com
Well this one popped up and the first thing I noticed was the round butt target grips and not the usual magna grips. Along with paper work and original box....THIS one was the one. With not even having the last 2 13's in my hands yet I prepared myself to win this one. I expected $1,000-1,200 and that was around my limit. I gave S&W a call last week with the serial number and the Special order "Berrier" and he said it was most definitely a government issued revolver and "Berrier" was probably the agent's name. Who knows! I can't wait to get it, YES shoot it, AND get a letter for it.

Finally my 13 collection is done...I think. Pictures of all of these together to follow, I promise. Not sure on the value of the one I got. But the combination of target grips, box, condition...I'm pleased.

That's what I said after #5. I now have seven. 3 in 3inch, and 4 in 4inch. 1 3in Nickel, and 2 3inch in blue. 1 4in nickel, and 3 blue. Still looking for more! I just can't pass one up!

Great find! I really like those stocks and the smooth version also. I tried to buy a 3" 64-3 shooter grade over the week end. It did not work out. Enjoy your new addition! Bob

Default Great Carry Gun

The model 13 was my last issued revolver prior to going to semi-automatics. We had them done with our agency seal. We ordered these when the Governor appointed a former FBI SSRA as our director. Great gun.

Great gun,

After you get that one in hand your going to want a 547 in three inch. My 547 has me wanting a M13 like yours.

You going to shoot it?
Is the red ramp original? Just noticed it

The 3" 13 is one of my favorites, I love mine... And like a broken record, I'm still looking for my grail gun, a 3 1/2" Model 27. A shooter that I can afford, of course.

I've always liked those three inch barreled 357's, everything you need & nothing you don't.

A Mod 13-3 & 65-3

Haven't been fortunate enough to stumble across a 3" M13, however I did come across a nice 3" M65-5 with box and docs this weekend. It gave my 3" 65-3 a partner. Gotta love those three inchers, congrats on the new piece.

It's a good thing that I missed that auction or you very well may have had to fork over that grand! You got a beauty. I really don't need another 357 because I have...

Wait.

Yes I do.
