Default Original Finish or Not?

This was sold to me as an original finish, but some of these markings have me worried.

Can anyone help me out?

The experts will no doubt chime in but I don't see a date stamp there, which should be there if it ever went back to the factory for anything.

A non-factory re-finish wouldn't have the stamp and detailed pictures will be required for any opinions on the matter.

I think it was a re finish, but not from the factory, smith would have put a stamp on thr left side were the a ??? something stamp is, it would be a 4 number stamp month and year . I may not be correct but someone that knows what it is better.

None of the stampings in the photo indicate a refinish, but the rest of the gun might - more photos would help here.

The N on the left side of the grip frame should indicate that your revolver left the factory with a nickel finish.

The large block N on the left side of the grip frame is usually indicative of an original factory Nickel finish. If there is also an N on the bottom barrel flat or inside the extractor shroud, and on the back of the cylinder, then there is no doubt whatsoever the gun was originally Nickel.

Agreed that if it was refinished then it was not factory work.

All those other marks are assembly and inspector markings. I can't see enough of the gun to tell if it may have been refinished, but none of those marks indicate so.
