I recently purchased a S&W 31-1, 2" revolver, SN #H95735. It appears to be new in the box, with the cleaning rods, blank warranty card, etc. On the box, there was a tag someone made that said it was purchased in May, 1980. I do not know if this tag was from the first or a subsequent purchaser. My question is what year is the date of manufacture? All I know is the H prefix begins in 1969. I would appreciate any additional information you may be able to provide.
