Model 13-2 3 Inch - Range Report
I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time and was able to negotiate a deal on this 3 inch model 13.
I have been looking for a blue one for quite some time. I have it's distance relative - a nickel model 13 circa 1982 but it's not P&R like this one.
It has some wear and bluing is rubbed thin in a few places but it sure looks good to me.
I took the side plate off and cleaned and oiled it up. I have not shot it yet, but hopefully soon.
The grips do not match the 8D prefix serial number.
Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Nice, very nice!. I'm waiting for that exact gun to show up in one of LGSs or pawn shops.

I have one I picked up a while ago. I've been buying different stocks for it and also picked up a Tyler T-Grip as well. I'm working my way through the stocks and shooting the Model 13-2 with them. It's a blast.

I was in a similar situation as the OP back in the summer when the call came about a M13 3" just processed for consignment. I had been looking to purchase one for quite some time, and when he quoted the price, I told them to hold it, now it's mine. It has the original matching magna grips and I added a Tyler T adapter to keep that classic look, which feels great in the hand. Enjoy that well balanced Smith.

Range Report
Took it out this morning for a quick firing session with .38 special ammo.
12 rounds off hand at six steps, six single action, six double action.
Great trigger! I'm really liking this revolver.

Seems like the story is often the same - right time, right place.
Here's mine. Oddly enough, I was checking out CalGuns one day and saw this as a fresh post for sale. Trade only and only for a Colt DS - which I had.
Loving this 13-3. It's on my belt as I type.

Oh, be bold! Try it at even greater ranges than six steps from the muzzle. The gun will shoot well enough if you can, and you seem to have basic marksmanship skills.
Try it to at least 25 yards. Some men can make hits on human-sized targets at 100 yards or greater. Try it on big milk jugs at that range.

I have a pair of these, one blue, one nickle. I think a three inch K frame is the perfect combination for a concealed .357 magnum. And if you should miss, in a "social" situation, the muzzle blast will set the bad guy on fire.
