Default And to think, I never even wanted ONE!

19's and 66's reduced vertical.jpg
Top one is a 66-1 I got from the estate of a deceased LEO friend.
Second one is a 66-1 Purchased from a local gun shop.
Third one is a 66-1 issued to a detective of a WI PD.
Fourth one is a "Pre-Model 19" four-screw, dates to 1955.
Fifth one is a 19-5, dates to 1988. Inside grips is printed: "April 11, 1988."
Sixth one is a 19-4, nickel-plated, dates to 1981.

All are in excellent to superb condition. The 19-4 was clearly somebody's pet.

It was fun to take them all to the range for a family shoot. It is clear to me why they were so popular.

Sometimes an "accumulation" turns out to be a nice "collection."
Thanks for expressing your appreciation.

mojave30cal stated you have the S&W sickness. I would have to agree. The only thing I ask is if you find a cure, please let the rest of us know ASAP. Very nice pieces you have there sir.

JMHO, But I regard the Model 66-1 as the "best of the breed." It's the convergence of S&W's manufacturing techniques, design features, and pride of workmanship on all of the 66s in a single package... and you got 3 including a snub? Are you sure you "never even wanted ONE" not even SECRETLY? If you still feel any of that sentiment, I'd be proud to own either of the first two, just to make it feel loved.

LOL at one point in the late 80s I had sold or traded all (2 or 3 ) of my Model 19/66s except for my 2 3inch 66-3s.......the 3" 66 covered most of my 38/.357 needs and I had a 4" 686 for the rest.

During the Assault weapons ban (94-2004)...... I "accumulated a nice collection" of 19/66s in 2 1/2 and 4 inch versions......... as a hedge.

They are a classic and you've done well for not even trying!!!!!!
