Default Even a blind pig...

gets lucky sometime. I do NOT usually shoot like this but was at the indoor range yesterday with my M57-2 8 3/8" Smith and a Glock 17. I shot about 50 rds from the Smith and the same from the Glock as was ready to leave when I reeled the target to 15 yards and cranked off a cylinder full from the Smith. I have glasses that focus on the front sight so I did not see what was happening on the target until I reeled it in. Here is what I saw:

If I could have seen what was happening I'd have messed it up for sure!

The secret is like you said, keep your eyes on the front sight alone and the gun will do what it is supposed to do. It makes for a much better shooting experience.

I think this fits in with that thing about "trying too hard". Sometimes I'll be shooting and the little things start to bother me...a little tremor in my hands, maybe, or something on the outer edge of my peripheral vision. And sometimes it seems those pesky sights just won't hold still. And I'll start trying to correct stuff. Sometimes you just don't need to concentrate so hard, you know? Just relax and pull the trigger.

Nice shootin', by the way.

... or the refrigerator! I think most of us would be very proud of that target. It's amazing what relaxing and letting muscle memory take over will do for us sometimes.

Thanks guys! As a 74 year old fat man, I was pretty happy with that target from standing!

Great shooting. I could not produce one like that even with the powder burns showing on it.
