S&W Model #51 .22 MRF info. Pics
I received this from my Father but it belonged to my late Grandfather who passed away in '73. The Serial number is M45471. I'd like to find out what I can about it and possible value, this gun looks like brand new. Thanks, Geno.

Made in 1971 or 1972. If I had to guess, I'd say the latter.

You are quite welcome, Geno.
FYI, the Model 51 was called the .22/32 Kit Gun Magnum. Introduced in 1960 and built on the J frame. These are nifty little revolvers!

Here are some .22/32 Kit Guns with the round butt. These are not magnums, but are chambered for the .22 Long Rifle. The magnum version (Model 51) was not usually built on the round butt frame, although a small number were and they are very collectible.
The stocks on this last one are genuine S&W stocks, but are not original to this revolver.

Wow Jack, those are beauties. You have me drooling lol. Any ideas on the value of my gun, not that it's for sale, I'm just curious. Again, thank you.

$700-$800 in the condition shown. It looks like there are some chips in the bluing on the right side of the trigger guard. Or is that just the lighting. If it is chipped, that might push the market price down, but probably not lower than the bottom number I posted here.

Thanks Jack, it is just the lighting, Pops took exceptional care of this since it belonged to his dad.
