I have a 3.5 357 serial number N371xx can someone tell me when it was made.

If there are really only five digits after the N, then it was most likely made in 1971. With that barrel length, it is almost certainly a Model 27-2. The blue will be bright and shiny and the top (above the cylinder) will be checkered.

You posted your picture while I was typing. This is definitely a Model 27-2. Nice!
The trigger shoe was added post-factory. The stocks are also after-market.

Nice gun. The Herrett grips are maybe a bit utilitarian for that revolver and I would remove the trigger shoe but that's just me. You have one of the guns high on my wish list.

Nice 27! I've always wanted 1 myself. (settled for a 28) I like Herrett stocks. It is a shame that yours are modified. My 28 has some on. They feel good in my hand. Enjoy your 27! Bob

Those skip check Herrett grips make that gun. I use to sell them like hot cakes back in the day at my shop. Plus, Bob Herrett was a delight to deal with. Different times. Best.
