Welcome! It is a .38 Combat Masterpiece. Can you post the full SN from the bottom of the grip frame, including any letters (there should be a K there). Also, how many screws are on the sideplate, with the stock panel off?

If the serial number is K773xxx, it would be from 1967. The K is part of the serial number.

Open the cylinder, Loke at the area under where the barrel screws into the frame that the yoke closes against. Should say mod 15

Okay, LouTom3, help us out here. Do you mean "dash 2" as in MOD 15-2? There is no "Model 2." The model would be 15 and the dash two indicates an engineering change, made in 1961.

NO! On the crane it has the serial number, that matches the one on the butt of the gun and then right below that is stamped "MOD 2" nothing else is stamped on the crane.

You gotta get us some pictures of that.
You may have the only one ever made that no one on the planet has ever heard of.

If the serial number you provided has a 'K' in front of it, it looks like a ship date in 1967.
The model SHOULD be a 15-2 or a 15-3...as the -3 variant began in 1967.
I am assuming you are not seeing the 15-2 correctly OR it is an off center stamping of te model number and the '15' is either waaaaaay off to the left or not on the crane at all.
Get a magnifying glass and good lighting to see what the case is....light strike, off center strike....
Pictures would help us help you.
