Welcome to the forum. I have no idea about the stocks, but perhaps someone will be along who can help.

The 10-6 is a fine general-purpose revolver. No bells and whistles, just solid dependability and accuracy.

Welcome to the forum! I don't know about the stocks either. Are those plastic? I'm assuming you've removed them and checked for markings

Marinto,

Welcome to forum. I too have never seen any stocks like the ones on your revolver. They are certainly different. Can you perhaps provide a little history? As Goblin noted above taking a look at the back side might provide some information. regards, hardcase60

I don't know either, but please post where I can buy a set when you figure it out. I think they're way cool!

Hello all, Thanks for the replies. I will go sometime on February to pick it up from there and will remove the stocks and take photos to share, I want to have someone make then the same way. I have seen a bunch of companies online that would do custom grips. As far as I can see theyou are plastic with the checkered design same as the wooden ones with those feathers inside.

The story about this revolver as far as Im aware my Dad bought it sometime in 72 brand new with the wood stocks but later I remember he had installed these ones. I was finally able to take legally possession of the firearm recently years after he passed away but like I said before I have to pick it up and we will see further about this. Thanks for the replies, I hope someone else here be able to help us out finding out about this.

Stay safe

I am unfamiliar with the grips you refer to with the quail feathers. It may just be the lingo.

Attached is a picture of my Model 10-6 with a serial number tracking it to production year of 1965. You will notice mine has the diamond around the grip screw. I believe it was 1968 when the magna grips were changed deleting the diamond.

The inside of my right grip/stock is serial numbered match to the revolver. I think it was 1979 when S&W stopped stamping the serial number on the inside of the right grip.

Not sure if you are looking for the original magna wooden grips or not. You might check eBay or GunBroker for original type wood grips/stocks if they are what you are seeking.

Sorry to hear of the past loss of your Father. You are blessed to have a fine revolver as another memory of him.
