Yes, no or maybe?
On this first day of 2017 I find myself in a quandary. I don't currently have a K frame snubby. Not a crisis by any means but it is an uncomfortable situation for a collector/accumulator such as myself to be in.
That being the case I ran across a solution to this dilemma. It's a 2", blued 15-3, 98% original condition in the box priced at $525.00. I've always liked the looks of the snubby Combat Masterpiece and I don't think the asking price is terrible plus it's open for discussion.
I'm not looking to carry it and I don't really need it to fill a particular niche in a collection. As I stated, I just don't have one at the moment and ran across this one. Would you get it, pass or think on it a few more days? Is the price in line with what these are bringing? TIA

Maybe a little high for me, but reasonable is what the buyer and seller agree to as far as I'm concerned. Wish I had a Model 15 of any barrel length . . .

That's a decent price for everything you are getting and they aren't getting any cheaper if you pass this one up.

How have you slept at night with no 2" K frame? $525 is going retail down here in FL. If there is wiggle room, go for it. What the heck, start the new year out right. Treat yourself, and get a good nights sleep. Best

Condition is everything! I have a 2inch Mod 15 and you couldn't buy it for that price! They aren't as common for sale as they use to be! Iwould buy it for that price, especially with the box etc.
Happy New Year

Thank you all. Didn't think the price was too bad. In this area pretty much any functional S&W in very good or better condition seems to start at $400-$450. I've seen and or owned a few M10 snubbies in the past but this 15-3 is the first adjustable sight snubby I can recall seeing in a long time.
I've got today at least think about it.

You may end up carrying it. I recommend not passing it up. The price would fly around here even without the box.
You will probably be very pleasantly surprised when you shoot it.

It's a good price. The K-frame snubs are hot right now, and they aren't making any more of them.

A couple of years ago, I took to much time in deciding whether or not to purchase a 2' Mod 15 with a nickel finish in 98%+ condition with no box or papers for $500.00 and have regretted that decision since that fateful day.
I would urge you to consider starting out 2017 on a positive note and post photos of your new acquisition for an appropriate number of "Likes."

+1 that's a good price for NV, TN and other states I regularly visit. There's one at the Reno shows I've been eyeballing. The Dealer's had it on his table for 2 years at $650. If I really wanted it, I'd offer him $500 and go as high as $550.

If you feel that is high and the seller won't budge here are a few thoughts. Just how much does say $50 off mean to you? Will you regret the $50 or not having a gun you want more? Plus, remember very few good condition S&W revolvers are going down in price. These are some of the arguments I use on myself to justify a borderline value purchase.
Make an offer a bit under your proffered price and see what the response is. I have got a few flat out OKs, decent counter offers and done a few meet somewhere in the middles that I could live with. Sometimes that is their bottom line. But, it never hurts to try, unless its a good buddy deal.

I have two 2" Model 10s........ I want a 2" Model 15 but haven't seen one around here in....................................................I can't remember!
IMO $525 at 98% is OK.... but if it's a LGS I'd offer $500 cash out the door.....nothing to lose!

I'd snatch it. The Model 15 snub's are just good looking little guns IMHO.

I bought a finished challenged 2" 15 a few years ago for a carry and range gun. I do not remember the dash but it was a fairly new gun ( no pinned barrel with one of those alphanumeric serial numbers) it shot great but i traded it so I could purchase a 4" feeling the full length ejection and longer sight radius would be better. While the 4" does the job I miss that snub. There was just something about the looks handling and function I can not put into words!

I picked up my Model 15-2 this year. The deal included a box that didn't match the gun and a set of target and magna stocks for $500.00. The gun, once cleaned up was probably 90% to 95% and at the range it shot like a champ. $25.00 would only buy a small bag of groceries that would be gone in a day or two. That snubbie will give you a smile every time you handle it, maybe for the rest of your life.

That's a good price for WNC. I'd scoop it up. I wouldn't take Hitler's head for my 4" 15.

I seldom if ever will let $50 keep me from buying a gun I liked and wanted.
From your description it sounds like a decent deal. Like the above said I agree you will probably talk about the one you let get away if you don't buy it.
5th edition pricing. I think many VG condition guns are way under price value in the 4th edition compared to what I see many guns selling for.
15-3 anib $650, exc $500, vg $400, Good $350, Fair $250

If condition is 90%+ the $525 is a very reasonable price. If you want it then buy it. Your "Want" isn't really something that anyone else's opinion means anything about!
Read this thread: What gun do you regret not buying? Maybe it will help.
