Let's see your Model 12s!
It's about time to post up some pics of the much ignored lightweight cousin to the Model 10:
The serial # C-666xxx.
Best,
Charles

Got this one last year. Was going to carry it, but it's way too nice to put any wear on when I have others to carry. The guy at the LGS, who does shows every weekend, said he had never seen one this nice. They tend not to hold up well to holster carry.

Jeez..Photobucket would make a preacher cuss this morning.
Anyway, 1975/75 2 inch nickel.
Like the model 12 never did fret over the dreaded
much talked about crack.

My better half carried this one as a duty sidearm back about 45 years ago.
It's still on her nightstand and I wouldn't want be between her and an intruder.

"Anyone have a Model 12 w/ a 4" bbl?"
Yes but no camera. Square butt, blue, still looks quite nice.
My 2 inch round butt had the tip of the hammer spur broken off. I found a new hammer but since I retired and don't carry it any more, I haven't gotten around to installing it.

1963/64 2 inch....
Clean for a 54 year old Smith.
Likely a bedside gun for years.

No longer mine, but was once proud to own this early one. Alum cylinder, original gold box with Airweight rubber stamped on label. Maybe the real owner will show up to claim his prize.

Here's a 4" that I haven't had too long... great condition!
And a snubbie that I've had for awhile:

I've been looking at one just like this only it's a SB for $525.00. No box but it sure is beautiful. Just haven't convinced myself yet that the price is right.

Here are a couple of more 4" 12-2s. One from 1977, the other from 1978.
The 2” is from 1974. It’s a little cosmetically challenged. Looks like it spent many years in an ill-fitting holster, but the mechanics seem perfect. Haven’t checked it out yet since I just took delivery of it today.
Also have a 12-3 supposedly LNIB, but it’s still in transit so no pics.

They were originally elk horn from Patrick Grashorn sized for a square butt Model 12 and I reshaped them for a round butt. I've since sent them back to him to have S&W medallions installed:
And yes, the speedloader is from 5-Star.

I have learned something new recently- it had been my original impression all the 2" 12's were round butt and all the 4" squares but now I see this is not the case. I have often thought about picking one up as a spare shooter but have always been a little leery as I see many reports of frame cracking

Hey Richard, if you don't snag it spread the wealth. I'd buy it sight unseen if it's a nice as the one pictured. SB or RB.

Thanks for the reassurance. I'll reconsider it.
Update: Stopped back to look at this on Saturday and it was already gone.

Sorry, no picture but I'm hoping someone could give me an idea as to what a round butt, Model 12, serial no.C9537xx, in very good to excellent condition (no box) might be worth. I think it was made around 1966 or 1967. Thanks.
