Default Model 63 Date of manufacture?
Hi guys,

I have a Model 63 no dash serial number afz 1086. Can someone date this for me?

A 63 no dash should have an M prefix.

Does it have a pinned barrel?

If it is a no-dash with the AFZ prefix that would probably put it about 1981.

The AFZ prefix isn't listed in the SCSW 3rd edition.

Although not specifically listed, the range falls in the 1986 time frame. It actually falls within the range of a 63-1 as it is not pinned, which were discontinued in 1982. I'm guessing the -1 just didn't get stamped.

Errors do happen, see this post, Missing roll mark

Am in possession of at least 5 model 63's.

Most recent purchase is a 63, No Dash, serial ABC001x.
So they do exist. Am guessing this one to be around
1982-83, give or take??
