Default model 57 value

I have been a 41 mag sort of fan, at the LGS is a model 57 with a serial number in the 317xxx range. It locks up nice, does not appear to have been shot alot. One small scratch on the cylinder, I am not a collector, I want it to shoot. It is pinned, with recessed cylinder, and has the original grips, that to me, and my hands feel much better than the newer wood grips. The shop I asking 1200, is this a decent asking price? Thank you for the help.

Assuming it's an N serial, and there's no box, tools, etc. I'd think that's about $400 high. If it sells for that, I need to thin the herd...

He's asking for $1,200? The door is open to haggle. Start out at $750. Haggle the price. To me $800 maybe tops. If he doesn't take $750 let him simmer for a few days. I'd go back and look at other guns.

At the local gun show Saturday, there was a 6" nickel for $700. It was a very nice shooter grade. No box or anything else. Went back Sunday. It was not on the table. Owner told me he decided not to part with it. Good luck on your hunt! Bob
