Recently pulled another nice revolver from my Dad's collection, a well-used 686 CS-1 .357 Magnum. Love the look of this one. Haven't fired it yet but for now I'm just admiring it. It needed some work unfortunately. The guy it was purchased from a couple decades ago did some scary trigger work on it, it was ridiculously light verging on unsafe. Well ,... it was unsafe. I replaced the trigger and hammer assemblies and it feels pretty good now.

What is a CS-1 revolver ??

The Port: Not sure who did it or when it was done, or if it's a factory thing (doubt it). It does have an expansion chamber, it measures 11/16" deep and about 7/16" diameter with dual "nostril" ports. It'll be interesting to see the flare pattern.

lawdog530, the CS-1 was a 686 spec'ed for the Customs Service in the late 80's. There's a huge thread in the 1980-Present forum (I know, I posted this one in the wrong forum) detailing the gun.

Smith & Wesson produced a revolver for the U.S. Customs Service in the mid 80's based on the Model 686 known as the CS-1. Lot's of information in the link.
