Default 17-3 vs 48 no dash

LGS has both, can trade either for a 34-1 2" even. Both are roughly 90%, the 48 has ***-ugly pachmyers on it. I already have a lnib 48- 4 4", but it's not pinned. I have a m18 also. M17 is 8 3/8, m48 is 6". How rare is a first year m48?

Couple years back I bought a near mint M48-0 with the 6" bbl. for $625 at the Big Reno show, from a walk in. 2nd month of production. Somewhat later, I bought a minty, unfired M17-3 with the 8 3/8" bbl. and three "T"s for $873 with shipping. Came in a M29 wooden box. How do you know your M48 is a first year? The missing numbered stocks would kill the deal for me. I would take the M17 if all matching. I also have a M48-0 8 3/8" bbl. 4 screw from 1959. Big Larry

I've got a 2" 34 that I'd trade in a heartbeat for a 17-3. .22mag was $17/ 50 at the show Saturday, about $5/box less than .357 mag. Joe

The 17 was gone, but a pre m11 was there for 350, and a nice 19-4 3t. I got the 19 and a yeti thermos out of my 34. I'm slowly dropping all my j frames, except for my m36 and my wife's m30, because they never get shot.
