Even though Ruger had no stated policy, it does seem to have an exceptional customer relations. Over the years I've dealt with Ruger about three or four times and it's always made things right. When I bought a defective LCR .357 two years ago, Ruger was unable to replace it because the gun was not in production and I'd have to wait. So they sent me the more expensive SP-101 with the barrel of my choice. And now I'm glad I got the better gun. Ruger was very nice about it and I've just never seen Ruger not stand behind its guns.

Yeah, I'm okay as long as Ruger stands behind its products. If it stops, that's when I'll have the problem.

Stargater, I agree that Ruger makes fine quality guns and am glad that you are so satisfied and have such a degree of confidence in the quality of the Six series. As to your statement that the Ruger guns you own will never need service, most probably that is true.
Yeah...the one problem I have has nothing to do with its warranty, but if I have a problem with my Security-Six, it can't be replaced. Ruger's present .357 medium frame offerings are not acceptable. The GP's have, in my view, horrible balance and are boat anchors. If my Security-Six's barrel blows off, I don't want a GP. I'd go for the new S&W 66.

This is how a .357 should be designed. Light, accurate, easy to carry. The GP-100
and 686 are just too heavy for camping, hiking, hunting and fishing. I'd love to see
these guns lose their underlugs and have more weight shaved off.

I was looking at two Sixes-one at about $800 and one $1200 a fair amount of cash which is why I happened to make the inquiry about support to Ruger, glad I did.
Seems steep, granted. But these guns have been shown to eat several hundred thousand full throttle magnum rounds. These guns are built to last, whether they have a written warranty or not. And Ruger stands behind them.

tipoc, so what is the count 43 keystrokes?-the fact is that Ruger provides no written warranty or any kind for support of their products; you and others are ok with this, and that is fine. I was not aware of this and that is the reason for this thread.

Ruger doesn't want to know anything about guns, which in the scheme of things are not that old and I just don't get it.

Does anyone really not understand why I decided to keep the cash in our checking account?

I get brand loyalty so some point, just not in the case of Sturm, Ruger and Company Inc-they simply do not care-if they cared about their customers FACTORY support would be available for guns made way back in '88, to argue otherwise is silly.
So we get it, you hate Ruger, then don't buy one!

You continue to ignore multiple statements about S&W having depleted parts for handguns that came AFTER the Ruger SS series had stopped (3rd gen autos XXXX).

As such, I have my own thoughts about you.

Most folks are here to learn and share. Others just to complain.

Once the M&P was a success, S&W pretty much abandoned the 3rd gen guns. I'm sure the 1st and 2nd gen weapons had been dropped from
Service requests long before that. There is a thread on here somewhere where some NIB old stock 5946's were being bought at Gander Mountain. So those new buyers of new guns are screwed from day 1. There are also threads here about S&W not producing new parts for 3rd gen weapons, so once the very limited supply is gone, you're totally out of luck. Even IF they can service the gun, there are posters who have been waiting months for the service.
