New to me 18-3 22LR
I worked at a gun show this weekend and for some reason this revolver caught my eye. Couldn't justify the expenditure, but I did have a Glock 30 SF I am not attached to at the house. Seller offered a deal I couldn't refuse and I am now the owner of a very nice 22 revolver.
So happy that I had to join a forum and make a first post. No box or tools, but it will be a shooter.
I'll post some more pics when I get home.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on getting a fine S&W.
That serial number should come from about 1974.

Thanks everyone. I messed around and didn't pick up any 22LR at the show and of course when I ran into Wally World (which I typically avoid like the plague) they had nothing. I've got a bunch of older federal here at the house so I'm just gonna use that for now.

Before 1957/58, Smith and Wesson revolvers had names only. After, they have both, so all model number 18s are also (K22) Combat Masterpiece by name.

Oh, if you have any trouble ejecting empties, don't be discouraged. This is a minor problem that besets some 18's and 17's. Over-tight chambers. A thorough cleaning/polishing can possibly alleviate the problem, but if not running a SAAMI standard chamber reamer through it will correct the problem.

Welcome to the forum, from The Old Dominion. Beautiful revolver.
I would have gone out and bought a Glock to trade for a Model 18.
Here's mine, an 18-4.

Seldom used, I have the black leather military flap holster for the .38 on a webb belt. Fits and protects my 18-4 perfectly. Any current holster listed for the K frame .38 will fit your K frame .22.

On top of all the other attributes of your K frame S&W .22 , the case hardening colors of the hammer are a knock-out!
K frames are my favorite platform. Congratulations.

As far as holsters keep an eye on gun shop and show "junk boxes" as most will usually have a pile of old 4" K frame holsters cheap- I could probably go to any shop within 20 miles and find a serviceable holster for under $20

Another Welcome! I would swap a Plastic Fantastic for an old Smith any day of the week!
If you are looking for a new holster there are some makers here on the Forum. Lobo Gun Leather can help you out. The one I use most of the time (not a member here) is Rob Leahy at Simply Rugged. He can set you up with whatever you desire. Not cheap but not overpriced like a lot of assembly line holsters are.

Been carrying it with me everywhere I go! I've shot it 12 times and I just love it.
I've never really been interested in revolvers before or 22's for that matter. I might have a problem now.

My favorite holsters are the Model 29 or 25 from Safariland. They have the sight track and suede lining and will last forever. They have not been made for years and can be found on ebay or Gunbroker at times. They are getting harder to find.
For new, I don't see new production revolver holsters much other than Galco, so one of the custom makers here on the forum would be a good choice.

The model 18 (.22 Combat Masterpiece) is a great revolver. You should have a great time shooting it. I agree with one of the previous posts, yours came out in 1975. Great find!
