That's a beautiful 5" nickel 27 you got there man! A nickel 5" 27-2 was the first handgun I ever bought back in 1974 and I still have it and it still shoots real good. I did send it back to S&W for a tuneup 2 years ago and now it feels pretty much like it did when new. And it's had more than 30K rounds through it.

I sold one just like yours exactly, 5" nickel unfired, etc for $2100 last yr.

That looks just like mine, except mine has FHP (Florida Highway Patrol) markings on it, and is not quite as new looking as yours. Congrats.

The seller calls this one an "FBI Model", but I think that's just a generalization based on past usage by FBI personnel. I don't believe there are addl markings on it (correct me if I'm wrong)?

The FBI used the 3 1/2" model way back in the 1930's and 40's. They never used the 5" model that I'm aware of. They had no special markings that I know of.
