Default Model 14-2 Valuation

I came across a local ad for a Model 14-2 6" for sale for $425. Gun looks good, I just do not know if the price is right or too high. Any help is appreciated.

From The ad:
"For sale is a S&W Model 14-2 chambered in caliber .38 Special and features a 6" pinned barrel. Pistol is in excellent condition and bluing is 95% plus."

That's a heck of a deal. Go buy it!

Incidentally, all Model 14-2 Masterpiece revolvers had pinned barrels. The dash 2 lasted only until 1967. Pinned barrels did not go away until c. 1982.

If the finish and function are OK and the grips are numbered, the price of $425 is reasonable for a retail/end user sale. Appears to be a nice gun. Best

I just gave $355 for a 14-4 with finish issues and rubber grips. It was tight and in good time however. I'm thinking $425 would be a good deal on that one.

I bought a 14-3 in August of 2014. A G.B. purchase. It was $410 shipped & insured. One of my best purchases. Fantastic shooters, and I really the looks and feel. You would be happy with 1, and don't you will do better on price. Bob

A local gun shop here has a 14-2 in excellent condition
like yours without any turn line.
It's been in his case marked at 499 for a few months now.
I could probably get him to come off that price by 50-100
dollars as he has worked with me before.
I give it a good once over every time i'm in there.
I don't need a model 14. At least that's what i keep telling
myself.
